And she is back! – While work for next articles is waiting in my drawer, I thought to make a short post on the release of a new single (maxi) by popular ballad singer and movie cult siren Kaji Meiko (梶 芽衣子・かじ めいこ)😍. 桜坂 – Sakura Hill by 福山雅治・Fukuyama Masaharu
As the title gives away, this beautiful song plays also on the theme of Sakura (cherry blossoms). The time when Japan is plunged into a sea of white and pink flowers, is maybe one of the most romantic, on the other hand it may also be a time of longing and heartbreaks. Fukuyama Masaharu’s (福山雅治) Sakura Zaka or Sakura Hill tells such a story.
雨の夜あなたは – On a Rainy Night, You… by 梶 芽衣子・Meiko Kaji
Another heart capturing song of Meiko Kaji that goes down like honey. Although it tells a sad story of hardship during separation, it’s absolutely wonderful vocally and in melody.
あかね雲 – Rosy Shimmering Cloud by 梶 芽衣子・Meiko Kaji
A blessed actress and singer she is, Kaji Meiko, and Akane Gumo (あかね雲) just one of her many beautiful songs that will put the listener under a spell. Below the lyrics with Furigana provided. The English translation done personally, which might not be perfect, but hopefully conveying the meaning and scenes.
