A blessed actress and singer she is, Kaji Meiko, and Akane Gumo (あかね雲) just one of her many beautiful songs that will put the listener under a spell. Below the lyrics with Furigana provided. The English translation done personally, which might not be perfect, but hopefully conveying the meaning and scenes.

The song tells the story of a woman, who is calmly enduring the deficits of her existence, as she is in love with a man, who despises her.

風呂敷(ふろしき)包み(つつみ) 小脇(こわき)にかかえ
A wrapped bundle under the arm

女は下駄(げた)で 男を追った
The woman in Geta followed the man

みぞれが頬(ほお)うつ 線路(せんろ)みち
Snowy rain sprinkles her cheeks (as she follows the)** railway tracks

She thought that she doesn’t care her sorrow

南京(なんきん)豆が 大好物と 男に言われりゃ それだけ食べた
Ought she be told by the man that earth nuts are her favorite food, she would only eat that
